I feel like this portfolio is a good way to keep assignments alive and to limit the amount of paper that we are using. Keeping an online portfolio allows you to correct writing errors faster and simpler than using a pen and paper. Also, it is faster to search for a post or certain text on here than scavenging through papers trying to identify the one you need. The only downside I can think of is if the internet goes out or the website its self goes haywire and there is nothing that someone can do to get all the work that someone has completed back.

I have created a website for a class in high school, we had to put blogs, posts, and pages as well. The website was also for an English class, but it was more focused on surviving in hectic situations. My website was about surviving the icebergs melting, so we would learn about something happening and then we would reflect on how that could be similar to the situation our website was about. I feel like this portfolio is set up better than the website I had in high school because it is easier to navigate where everything is and it asks if you want to save your work before going back to a different page.

  1. Montana,

Your enthusiasm for your discipline is apparent in your About Me page. I LOVE that a part of your major’s attraction is all that is yet to be known about the ocean. Discovery and curiosity are a couple of my two favorite attributes! Your response above is comprehensive and thoughtful. I’m glad that you come to the table with experience. Keep up the good work, and I look forward to reading more.
