Blog #6

My first draft went a little like what Anne Lombatt described, I did not know where I was going it was really messy and confusing. Plus, I would type random stuff down hoping it would make sense in the end. I could really tell that she has been writing for a long time because she knows what it is like to go through starting a new paper and crazy it can get. This short essay just really relaxes me because it reassures me that there is always a really really bad draft of whatever you are writing. But, you can go back and fix it over and over again until it is exactly the way you want it to be.

I have a few goals in mind for the revision process. My first point is to make sure that my thesis is clear and anyone could point it out from the rest of the text. I also, plan on moving some things around to make my paper flow better and to really support my argument.

The first step is to single out the thesis statement, to see if it could stand on its own if it was the only thing that could provide content into what the paper is going to be about. Then, I plan to rearrange or write a new thesis sentence to make it where I want to go with the paper. Once, I have come up with a better thesis that is clear and concise I will go through all of my topic sentences to see if they align with the thesis. For moving some things around in my paper I plan on taking the piece out of where it is and putting it in the best spot within my paper. After I put the piece in the new spot, I will go back to where I cut it from and reword somethings so, that the paper flows together.

I think my biggest challenge so far is making sure that the thesis is clear and making sure that I fix all my fine grammatical errors. I feel like this paper could really come together once I piece together the puzzle. I feel like I have everything I need in my thesis now after the peer review I just think it needs to be looked over, so I know for sure that it is a clear statement of view.

If there is a point in my revision that I can not get over myself and really need help I have a few options of aid. I plan to either go to Emmy, my peers, or Professor Emerson. I actually plan on taking my thesis to Emmy to really fine out the cricks in it.
