“Pitt Instructs Students, Employees to Cancel China Travel Plans in Wake of Outbreak” 

Pittsburgh is advising anyone that is thinking or planning on traveling to China to cancel their plans. The Office of Public Safety and Emergency Management dropped a “do not travel” to China announcement on Friday, January 30, 2020. China is trying to conceal the virus and classify what it is. The announcement also included that the public should keep from “nonessential travel” to be on the safe side. The university has no known cases on any of their campuses and they plan to keep everyone updated on the latest information containing the issue. At this time the University is assisting support through the Global Operations team to anyone that was planning on traveling. The Student Health Center is screening all staff and students that have traveled abroad. Along with providing an open Counseling center for those who have family in China. The University advises that anyone that has traveled abroad should get a screening.
