Journal #12

I thought it was interesting that some organizations or funders allocate money specifically for the evaluation aspect of the program. I feel like the evaluation is more based on observations or data collected throughout the program’s time period and wouldn’t necessarily require money. This leads me to wonder; what kind of evaluation would need money in order to be executed other than hiring an outside evaluator? I like how they mentioned both quantitative and qualitative methods of evaluation because I feel like when it comes to developing programs that involve funders a lot of people may only really look at numbers and forget the qualitative perspective. However, in some cases, the qualitative perspective may be the most valuable information that is produced or vice versa. The last thing that I want to point out is the format of the evaluation example that is provided by the Alyson Eats organization. It is interesting to see that they start off with bullet points for the quantitative data but then move into a paragraph structure for the qualitative data. I personally feel as though they should have stuck with one or the other because it creates a less uniform look even though it may help break it up.I thought it was interesting that some organizations or funders allocate money specifically for the evaluation aspect of the program.
