Blog #15

After looking over the many chapters of  They say/I say I came across the introduction. It is all about the basic templates2 of including what “they” say into what “I” say. This chapter is about making a weak writer stronger, teaching them the basics of writing a paper that allows them to incorporate other sources properly and to show there are other views. It provides a bases of why things are included are necessary and how to make them fit into a strong paper. The chapter is essentially about having a conversation in your paper between oneself and (an)other(s)that allows the reader to see why someone is saying what they are saying.

I have chosen to read this chapter because I feel like I have a hard time trying to include my opinion more into what I am talking about. Also, It gave me insight into how I could talk about what my sources are talking about and what I think at the same time. Especially in this paper, my rough draft did not really have my opinion in it. That is why I feel like I should look over how I could incorporate my opinion without obscuring what the sources are saying.

I learned to put my opinion into the paper while not neglecting to say, while this source may say this-this is what I feel. I included more of my opinion in my paper. After talking about some points I tried to say what I think about it in a way that does not skew the flow of the paper. I feel that by adding my opinion along with what some of the sources said it made my argument stronger.
