“Black History Month Events Focus on Past, Present, Future of Black Life” 

The organizers who are in charge of the Black History Month festivities are honoring K. Leroy Irvis. Whom is the “first and only black speaker of the Pennsylvania House of Representatives.” The event being held in his honor is going to last four days; showcasing multiple artists, political leaders, and performances promoting activism like Irvis himself. They chose to take Black History Month programs to a new level and have past and present festivities that try to have attendees think about the future for black people. This event among other cultural activities “encourage a better understanding of diversity and inclusion on the individual and community level.” The organizers not only want the importance of learning from the past to be known but also what the future has in store. From this, the school itself is hoping the campus becomes stronger as more people are motivated to come to the celebration. At the end of the article, a shortlist is given of the activities of the rest of the month.
