Improve Your Professional Self
I will be talking about developing a better professional self. I will be entering the professional world within the next year. As I am sure some of you will be as well if not in the next year then within a couple of years which is why it is important to listen to some ways becoming a better professional self looks like.
- An example of one professional development process an individual may make is as followed.
-
- Setting goals (Better self)
- Developing better soft skills (dependability, adaptability, problem-solving, etc.)
- Knowing your weaknesses and strengths (How you make up for them)
- Curiosity (Look outside your field)
- Making Connections (Maintaining and reaching out)
- Reflect
- Set new goals
- Some may have one big concept they want to work on like…(Clips of different word collages)
- Collaboration- involves both internal interactions with coworkers and external partnerships with other businesses essentially working together towards a common goal or objective.
- Responsibility- More or less
- As for a better professional version of myself, it looks a little different. (One clip of the woman)
- Making Connections (staying connected)
- Communication (Interpersonal skills-Small talk)
- Project Management (Time and priorities)
- Self-Confidence (Getting out of my comfort, thought-capability mindset, and leadership) [moving hands and playing with hair.]
- Although I have these in a step-by-step kind of format that is not necessarily how becoming a better professional self occurs.
- Cycle
- Back and forth
- Additional and subtraction
I hope everyone sees how important professional development is and to never forget one of the most important parts of becoming a better professional version of yourself which is reflection. Thank you.
